Lama Jinpa is a Western yogi, ordained as a Ngakpa (white-robed Tantric Practitioner) of both the Kagyu and Nyingmapa lineages. Jinpa first took refuge with His Holiness, the 16th Karmapa, and six years later, undertook the the traditional 3-year 3-month meditation retreat under the auspices of Kalu Rinpoche. Travelling to India and Nepal many times over the last 30 years, he has received transmissions and teachings from many great masters. Conceiving and organizing the Healing Cho Tours, he traveled with Kunzang Dechen Lingpa for two years, while acting as his personal doctor. Dedicated to preserving the genuine, traditional practice of Chöd, he is a founding director of the School of Tibetan Healing Chö. Jinpa is currently translating many important Chöd texts, especially those related to its healing capabilities, and completing a text book on Chöd for Snow Lion Publications. Translator and main student of Tsewong Sedar Rinpoche, he is also involved with a large project of gradually translating the many terma practices and teachings of PeGyal Lingpa.
